Faith: A Violent Force

Bishop James C. Hash, Sr,

Most people don’t see Faith as a violent force. But spiritually speaking it is. Your Faith must be aggressive.

Matthew 11:12...KJV  And FROM THE DAYS OF JOHN THE BAPTIST UNTIL NOW THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN SUFFERETH VIOLENCE, and THE VIOLENT TAKE IT BY FORCE.

  • You have to become spiritually aggressive if you want to walk in the supernatural.

I Timothy 1:18-19...KJV  THIS CHARGE I COMMIT UNTO THEE, SON TIMOTHY, ACCORDING TO THE PROPHECIES WHICH WENT BEFORE ON THEE, THAT THOU BY THEM MIGHTEST WAR A GOOD WARFARE; HOLDING FAITHand A GOOD CONSCIENCE; WHICH SOME HAVING PUT AWAY CONCERNING FAITH HAVE MADE SHIPWRECK:

  • THIS CHARGE I COMMIT UNTO THEE

  • THAT THOU BY THEM MIGHTEST WAR A GOOD WARFARE

  • HOLDING FAITH, and A GOOD CONSCIENCE

I Timothy 6:12...KJV  FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH, LAY HOLD ON ETERNAL LIFE, WHEREUNTO THOU ART ALSO CALLED, and HAST PROFESSED A GOOD PROFESSION BEFORE MANY WITNESSES.

I Timothy 6:12...AMP  FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF THE FAITH [IN THE CONFLICT WITH EVI]; TAKE HOLD OF THE ETERNAL LIFE TO WHICH YOU WERE CALLED, and [FOR WHICH] YOU MADE THE GOOD CONFESSION [OF FAITH] IN THE PRESENCE OF MANY WITNESSES.

  • We are “summoned” by God to fight “THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH.”

  • Faith isn’t passive; it’s aggressive.

  • Faith takes the WORD of God as a weapon and brings down every stronghold of unbelief and every demonic obstacle in its path.

II Timothy 4:7...KJV  I HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT, I HAVE FINISHED MY COURSE, I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH:

  • ... “I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH:”

II Timothy 4:7...AMPC  I HAVE FOUGHT THE GOOD [WORTHY, HONORABLE, and NOBLE] FIGHT, I HAVE FINISHED THE RACE, I HAVE KEPT [FIRMLY HELD] THE FAITH.

  • “...I HAVE KEPT (FIRMLY HELD) THE FAITH

AGGRESSIVE FAITH

  • How do you Fight a “GOOD FIGHT”? Don’t be an avoider of a Faith fight.

  • We win when we Keep the Faith; search for unbelief in your life.

  • Find Scripture that speaks about your situation.

  • Locate God.

  • Believe the WORD OF GOD.

  • The “acted on” WORD of God and prayer will put the devil and his demons to flight every time!

Exodus 15:3...KJV THE LORD IS A MAN OF WAR: THE LORD IS HIS NAME.

II Corinthians 10:4-6...KJV (FOR THE WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE ARE NOT CARNAL, BUT MIGHTY THROUGH GOD TO THE PULLING DOWN OF STRONG HOLDS;) CASTING DOWN IMAGINATIONS, and EVERY HIGH THING THAT EXALTETH ITSELF AGAINST THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, and BRINGING INTO CAPTIVITY EVERY THOUGHT TO THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST;   And HAVING IN A READINESS TO REVENGE ALL DISOBEDIENCE, WHEN YOUR OBEDIENCE IS FULFILLED.

II Corinthians 10:4-6...AMP THE WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE ARE NOT PHYSICAL [WEAPONS OF FLESH AND BLOOD]. OUR WEAPONS ARE DIVINELY POWERFUL FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF FORTRESSES.   WE ARE DESTROYING SOPHISTICATED ARGUMENTS AND EVERY EXALTED AND PROUD THING THAT SETS ITSELF UP AGAINST THE [TRUE] KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, and WE ARE TAKING EVERY THOUGHT AND PURPOSE CAPTIVE TO THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST,  BEING READY TO PUNISH EVERY ACT OF DISOBEDIENCE, WHEN YOUR OWN OBEDIENCE [AS A CHURCH] IS COMPLETE.

  • Our weapons are not physical weapons.

PRESS TOWARD THE MARK

Philippians 3:14...KJV I PRESS TOWARD THE MARK FOR THE PRIZE OF THE HIGH CALLING OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS.

Philippians 3:14...AMP I PRESS ON TOWARD THE GOAL TO WIN THE [HEAVENLY] PRIZE OF THE UPWARD CALL OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS.

  • Set your goal to win.

  • To press means “to act with steady force or weight: to be insistent about; to exert pressure.”

  • It means “to go forward with energetic or determined effort.”

  • To be a winner, “you press.” You press into what God has called you to do. You don’t float into it.

  • You press forward by Faith, believing the Word of God, and not what natural circumstances say.

  • No matter where you are today in your spiritual growth, you won’t progress without pressing.
