REMEMBERING
Memorial Day is a day of commemoration honoring the soldiers who died while serving in the U.S. military. It is a day of remembering those men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we might remain the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Originating a few years after the Civil War and formerly named Decoration Day exemplified by the decorating of graves and memorials of fallen soldiers, Memorial Day became an official federal holiday in 1971.
St. Peter’s proudly salutes these honorable men and women for securing and protecting our freedom…. Remaining a Country that is for the people, of the people, and by the people.
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” John 15, verse 13 (NIV). These brave men and women gave their lives for democracy, a cause they believed in for a country they loved.
We Will Always Remember!.
