Juneteenth Observance

Juneteenth is celebrated Sunday, June 19th.

Juneteenth is known as Jubilee Day, Liberation Day, and Emancipation Day.  It was commemorated on the anniversary date of June 19th back in1865 when the proclamation of freedom from slavery in the United States was announced.

In observance of Juneteenth, St. Peter’s Church will participate in the Juneteenth Festival on Saturday, June 18th from 1:00 PM – 8:00 P.M. at the Innovation Quarter (Biotech Place and Bailey Park, Downtown Winston-Salem). Come and enjoy the rich African American cultural traditions, performances, vendors, crafts and more!
